Again, each one is downloadable from the website in the PDF format.

This paper describes an approach to developing a better understanding of the weight-gain/weight-loss process. As is well known, the growing epidemic of overweight/obesity (0/0) in the United States has become an increasingly serious health and health care problem over the last 20 years. Long term, the answer is of course prevention. However, in the meantime much work needs to be done in order to bring the epidemic under control using treatment and management interventions, now and for the foreseeable future. The science of epidemiology, that is the study of the distribution of disease and negative and positive states of health in populations, can be very helpful in this regard.
